Aluminum gutters are the contractors first choice.

Aluminum gutters are probably the most liked by consumers. Not only is aluminum lightweight, and boast a wide range of color choices, it also comes with a reasonable price tag. In most environments aluminum guttering will last around 25 years. However; aluminum must be handled with care as it can be damaged easily by limbs or ladders. Although it doesn’t have the same structural durability of copper or steel, it’s non-corrosive qualities, and economics usually outweigh it deficiencies.

Copper is usually reserved for classic restorations.

Copper is the most eco-friendly gutter material available, fully recyclable, safe to use and can be worked at all temperatures. It's handsome, never rusts and never needs painting. Copper gutters are good to have for many reasons including the fact that they will never rust or rot away. Copper adds a sense of visual appeal, and value to your home requiring less maintenance than aluminum or other materials. Copper gutters however; will oxidize and turn green over time unless they are treated. There are several sealants available that can be applied to keep copper gutters looking golden and shiny.

Galvanized Steel is typically stouter than aluminum.

Hot-dip galvanized steel has been effectively used for more than 150 years. The value of hot-dip galvanizing stems from the relative corrosion resistance of zinc, which under most service conditions, is considerably better than iron and steel. Typically galvanized steel is thicker and more rigid often resulting in better durability against falling limbs, ladders and other adverse factors. Although more rigid, environmental conditions will eventually result in rust without painting inside and out.

PVC Gutters are designed for the do-it-yourselfer.

PVC is strong and resistant to denting. It will not rust, chip, or peel. It is lightweight, low maintenance, and has been in use for over 35 years. It is available direct from some manufacturers and most home centers. It is effective in corrosive environments, reasonably priced, relatively easy to assemble, and can be painted if necessary. However; gutter stock is usually only available in 10-foot lengths, and is visually different from more traditional gutters. Most gutter contractors will not use PVC due to labor, and aesthetics due to connectors ever 10’. It is perceived by some to be a lower-end product. , and is quite limited in color choice.

Galavalume gutters are made aluminized steel .

Galvalume gutters have least twice the corrosion resistance of traditional galvanized coatings of similar thickness under the same exposure conditions, and have the same baked on paint finish as aluminum and is made from the same material that roofing companies use to make metal roofs. Galvalume is considered one of the best materials for seamless gutters. Galvalume gutters come in a wide array of colors, and in most instances colors can be made to match the color of a customer's metal roof. It comes in K design and half round and can be made as a seamless gutter in most applications.
