Company Story

After finding our humble beginnings in the early 1970’s in southern Florida with apartment renovations and management, we moved to North Georgia in 1977 and began to move and renovate homes. Thomas & Sons Home Improvements began branching out into commercial developments and tenant finish. Finding an absence in the market place for outdoor living, we established Atlanta’s 1st Outdoor Center in Duluth Georgia in 1985. The exterior millwork shop, known as Woody’s Woodworks, would soon become an Icon for quality outdoor living products - designing and building gazebos, arbors, bridges, decks, docks, outdoor furniture, and many other products from our Duluth location. In 1987 we partnered with Pike Nurseries who acquired Redwood Designs and managed all their project installations throughout the southeast. In 1988 we bought out 84 Lumber in Doraville, Georgia and opened our lumber supply business. In 1995 Atlanta’s Outdoor Center took on some international partners and expanded its services to the Southeastern States through pre-manufactured products. In 1996 we purchased the tooling and inventory from a Doraville, Ga. based pool company. In 1999 we established Atlanta’s Full Service Yardscape Store and began providing ground cover and many other products to the landscape Industry. We then acquired the building consultant company “Show-U-How” training home owners how to construct their own minor home improvement projects.

In 2000 USA Homeworks was formed as we launched back into the major home renovations. Although our market influence has broadened over the years, our attention to customer needs and project details have remained a first priority. As a result of this broad base of disciplines through a group of companies, our approach to design and implementation is generally more conclusive for our clients’ needs than any of our competitors.

Building dreams throughout the southeast for more than 1/3 of a century, our work appears in many town centers and historical sites - from the south’s largest playground in south Atlanta, to renovations in over 50 parks throughout metro Atlanta, and iconic town centers throughout the southeast. Woody’s brand products have earned a good name everywhere they are built. Used by many municipalities, hundreds of developers and builders, fortune 500 companies, malls, resorts, parks, amusement centers, apartments, condos, colleges, schools, churches, retirement facilities, subdivisions, and corporate complexes, we have encountered almost every need conceivable in the industry.
